Study for the “Mitchell Family Quilt”, framed, 37” x 37”. The Mitchell Family Quilt, 1984, was made by 4 generations of Mitchell Family women for the “Artist and the Quilt” Exhibition directed by Charlotte Robinson. The Quilt and the study traveled for 2 years e with the collection of 22 quilts made by American women artists in collaboration with noted quiltmakers. The collection was hung in museums in the United States and the Caribbean. Knopf published a book on the project: “The Artist and the Quilt”, 1984. A copy of that book with a photo of Rosemary Wright making the study is included with the framed study. The Mitchell Family Quilt is now in the permanent collection of the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln, NE.
